Christy Holloway, MSN-ED, RN, AGNP-C
Nurse Practitioner Consultants Nurse Practitioner & Palliative Care
A Little About Me: Christy began her journey in nursing to help others. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing licensure, she worked at Banner Desert Health on a Neuro-Telemetry floor – assisting patients following strokes and other serious life events. In dealing with the fast-paced work of a hospital nurse, Christy quickly realized education is paramount in helping patients heal. Patients need expert advice from their healthcare professionals to receive maximum benefit from the hospital experience and their treatment. In 2017, she earned a Master of Nursing Education to facilitate nurse training. Teaching and education have become her foci in best helping patients. The following year, she began in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). She taught education courses for newly diagnosed diabetics and began coursework for her nurse practitioner license. As she progressed, a new love for the elderly population emerged. Most people in ICU were scared and alone. This often involved a major transition for families as well as the patient. Patients and their families faced the possibility of death or life-long profound illness. Education and patience are a necessity in these times. Families were often confused and needed more provider time and guidance than traditional medicine typically offered. The transition into hospice was a natural fit following her time in the ICU. She was honored to help educate families through the end-of-life journey. As she finished her Post Masters AGNP in 2020, she realized her passion was geriatric care. The focus became educating families and patients on living the best quality life for whatever time God grants us. Christy now focuses on total health – the body, the mind, and the soul. She asserts we are more just a physical body; rather we need families, communities, and connection as well. Senior care must be comprehensive and should consider all aspects of life. At Nurse Practitioner Consultants (NPC), Christy has found a home. She joined a group of individuals eager to serve senior communities. The team at NPC embraces and cares for the total individual – the physical, the psychological, and the spiritual. Their commitment to bringing quality care is the inspiration for Christy and all NPC team members. Christy’s commitment to the community is to continue to learn and grow so she may bring the best care to you, your family, and your community. Christy Holloway is your board-certified Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.
